In the News! DACA and DREAMERS Update

UPDATE on DACA & the DREAMERS: The March 5, deadline for Congress to do something about the DACA program is approaching quickly. While many in Congress say they do not wish to deport these young people – including Sen. Jerry Moran – no legislative solution has been created to date. On Monday (February 26), the Supreme Court declined to hear the Trump Administration’s case which in essence sends a legal solution back down to Federal Courts. Two federal courts have declined to rule the DACA program unconstitutional. These court rulings buy a little time, maybe up to a year for current DACA participants; however, no new applications are being taken.

If you feel strongly about the lives of ~700,000 young people who were brought to the US as children, educated here, and are now contributing to our country in many ways, continue to make your voice known in Washington by contacting our elected officials.
