REFUGEE HOME SUPPLY LIST

Debra Lee (Manager of Development & Community Relations of Episcopal Migration Ministries 316.977.9276 http://www.episcopalmigrationministries.org) has forwarded a list of standard items that are accepted by the Ministries to help refugees and immigrants begin a new life in their own apartment.  The list includes those items deemed unacceptable.

Furniture
 Complete Bed – Mattress, Box Spring, Bed Frame (twin or full) Mattress Sets NEW only
 Drawers, Shelves or other Unit appropriate for storage of clothing per family
 Couch or equivalent seating per family, Coffee Table, End Tables
 One Lamp per room with Light Bulbs
 Kitchen Table and chairs
 Wall Hangings, TV, Wall Clock (highlighted, not Government Requirement)
Linens and Other Household Supplies
 Bath Towels, Wash Cloths, Hand Towels
 Sheet Sets, Blankets, Throw Blankets
 Pillows (New) and Pillowcases
 Alarm Clock, Paper, Pens and/or Pencils, Notebook Binder
Cleaning Supplies
 Dish Soap/ Bathroom/Kitchen Cleanser/All Purpose/Laundry Detergent – New not expired
 Sponges or Cleaning Rags and/or Paper Towels
 Waste Baskets – Large and Small | Trash Bags – Large and Small
 Mop or Broom/Dustpan, Toilet Brush, Plunger, Laundry Baskets
Kitchen Items
 One Place Setting of Tableware (fork, knife, spoon)
 One Place Setting of Dishes per person (plate, bowl and cup)
 Pots and Pans: sauce pan, frying pan, and baking dish
 Large Mixing/Serving Bowls
 Kitchen Utensils (i.e. spatula, wooden spoon, knife, utensils, etc.)
 Can Opener, Flatware Holder
 Oven Pan, Cutting Board, Dish Drying Rack, Plastic Food Storage Containers with lids
 Chef’s Knife, Sharp Knives
Toiletries (NEW)
 Toilet Paper , Shampoo, Hand Soap, Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, Combs, Lotion, Facial Tissue, Personal Hygiene items as appropriate –New, Sealed, not expired (deodorant, feminine hygiene products-pads, razors), Tooth Brush Holders, Shower Liner/Hooks/Curtain/Rod
Misc. Items
 Calendar, Fire Extinguisher, Document Holder
 Appropriate seasonal clothing for work, school and everyday use: Clean clothing, in good condition, for all members of the family (including proper footwear), Socks and Underwear (new)
 Baby items as needed: i.e. baby food, clothing, and diapers. Infant and children car seats, cribs, New within the last seven years
 Backpacks for Children’s School, Wallet/Purse
