Dillons has announced that it will end the Neighborhood Rewards program, which tracks the amount loaded onto Gift Cards to donate to non-profit organizations. In its place, Dillons has created a Community Rewards program. PVCC plans to enroll in the Community Rewards program to receive donations from Dillons.
The Community Rewards program works by letting organization members/supporters associate their Dillons Plus cards (shopper cards) with an organization. All purchases made with the Dillons Plus cards associated with an organization are used as a basis for Dillons making a donation to that organization. The Dillons Plus card is the same card you use to get Fuel Points and to take advantage of advertized specials.
Benefits for shoppers include not having to load money onto a separate card (the Gift Card) and not having to worry about Gift Card being lost or stolen. It’s much easier to help PVCC under the new program.
The Community Rewards program begins February 1, 2015. Shoppers can associate their Dillons Plus cards with PVCC starting January 1. Reloading Gift Cards will continue to benefit PVCC throughout January. Gift Card balances never expire, so you can continue to use them after February 1, until you use up the balance.
You may receive information about this new program from Dillons Customer Support when you reload your Gift Card.
