Building off earth day, I’d like to share ideas this month of specific ways that we can make small changes in our daily lives to work to become better stewards of the earth, as the Creator calls us to be. As promised in the family moment, the moment you’ve all been waiting for: here’s a link to the toilet device I mentioned during last Sunday http://www.tapnflush.com/. If you have a minute take a look around. It’s an interesting site/business.
In general, if we resolve to reduce the amount of water we use and reuse the water we do use as much as possible, it can make a huge difference. Try to make it a goal to keep as much water from going down the drain as possible. When brushing your teeth or washing your hands, turn off the faucet when you are not actively using it. Instead of dumping a glass of water down the drain when you’re done drinking use it to water a plant or put it in a pet’s water dish. When you’re warming up the water for a shower put a bucket in to catch the water then use that water elsewhere. Those are a few ideas, but be creative. There are other situations to apply this basic principle. Also, courtesy of our friends at tapnflush, here’s a list of 100 other ways to save water. http://www.tapnflush.com/100-water-conservation-tips/.
Many of these changes may seem insignificant on the surface, but over time it adds up. So…challenge yourself and others to take the time and thought to use our resources wisely!
