The Team met last Wednesday (January 8) to continue discussions of the candidates being considered for the position of Senior Minister. We voted unanimously on a top candidate with whom to continue conversations. In contacting her, we learned she and her family will be in the Wichita area this week (January 14-20), and the Search Team is taking advantage of this opportunity to meet with her on Sunday, January 19, in the afternoon. She will not be preaching on January 19 nor will she meet with congregants, at this time. We will have some fairly nitty-gritty discussions, primarily that of a compensation package (e.g., salary, housing, professional expenses) – what does she and her family need; what can PVCC offer. If we come to a mutually agreeable decision, we will invite this candidate back to preach and “meet and greet” church members. Please keep this meeting and the continuing search process in your prayers!
