MESSAGE FROM PVCC’S PRESIDENT

“Consecrate your life to the realization of something higher and broader than yourself and you will never feel the weight of the passing years.” – Mira Alfassa (The Mother)

There are days when I open my email to the quotes of Pace e Bene, as the one above, and wonder if the person picking them has been living in my head, on my shoulder, or just been a fly on the wall. Then I realize, no, I’m not the only one who feels like this.

It is sometimes difficult to remember that there is more to life than our daily routine, especially when it has us running around keeping customers happy, suppliers engaged, our employees accomplishing work, and receiving that paycheck every couple weeks to pay the companies to which we are indebted. And then, something comes along in our lives that makes us stop, think hard about what we are doing, and potentially question “the higher and broader” mission we were meant to be part of.

For me, attending the conference in NM two weeks ago was my reminder to that higher mission. It was the refresher that there is something more than the daily grind. Unfortunately, you cannot bottle that feeling. One has to intentionally work at retaining the thoughts of the moment, otherwise, it’s back to the grind of work assignments, school starting, and the many other directions we are pulled.

A second reminder of that higher mission, for me, is what we are going through as a church family with Carolyn. Traveling through Houston, Texas this week left me thinking of Carolyn and Ken’s journey as they travel into the next phase of diagnosis. My calling not only to wrap them in love, but each of you is part of that higher mission. Part of that is being available in times of need while Carolyn is away from the office. As such, please feel free to contact me while Carolyn is away if you need anything. I’m available by email, nbyington@sbcglobal.net, and or cell phone, 316.259.2580.

Peace and blessings!

Natalie
