The annual Wichita version of the CROP Hunger Walk will be held on Sunday, October 5, at Sedgwick County Park. The walk begins at 2:00 pm, starting at the Horseshoe Shelter.
We need participants from PVCC to help out! If you would like to do so, you can obtain a participant packet and an event information sheet from the table inside the east entrance. Then you just need to find some friends who will sponsor you by pledging to donate any amount they feel comfortable giving. You can collect their pledges either before or after the event, and then return them according to the instructions in your participant packet.
The walk itself is just a relaxed stroll around Sedgwick County Park, so it’s a fun way to get some fresh air and enjoy a great time outdoors, while also feeling good that you’re helping people who really need support.
The Wichita CROP Walk organization has its own web site, where you can get more information about our local event: http://www.cropwalkwichita.org. The local group is also organizing a peanut butter drive, so that’s another way to help out. If you want to purchase peanut butter, or collect some from your friends, you can take it with you to the event and drop it off there. Feel free to contact Bill Delaney.
