This Sunday is Sock It To Me & Pie Party Sunday. Maybe we are starting a new tradition to mark the end of one year and the start of a new year. Sock It To Me sounds more adventurous than Put Your Best Foot Forward Sunday, though the idea is the same. Cross the threshold of time with energy, purpose and in a spirit of joy and thanksgiving.
I’m going to wear my new red socks on Sunday. What about you? We won’t have time for everyone to share the story of their socks, but I want to again encourage you to write down a welcome to Rev. Kara on a 3 x 5 that you can leave on the communion table. She will be able to keep these as part of her Welcome to PVCC scrapbook. Be creative. Use art, write haiku, share your favorite Bible verse, quote an author. Give her a hint about who you are, what you like, why you are glad to be a member of PVCC, your hope for 2018. Take the lid off and dream and then transpose what you see to a 3 x 5 card.
