I’m going to title my contribution to The Communicator, “David’s Diary.” I intend for it to be a place to offer personal reflections of our life together and to share hopes for the future. Feedback and comments are welcome.
I was in Florida last week attending a conference. I went with high expectations remembering conferences of the past that I have attended, many of which I also planned. This was a different kind of gathering. Even planners clearly had a different vision of what they wanted to have happen.
Although the conference was not what I had anticipated, I can say that I am glad that I went and I thank you for giving me the opportunity to go. Sally and I ate our way through some great restaurants and enjoyed the Florida sun.
Back home now, it is wonderful to be here at Pine Valley once again as your interim. As before the agreement is open-ended. I will generally be in the office Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. I will be here on Sunday morning and hope you are too. I am on call when I am not in the office.
Lent is coming. Ash Wednesday is March 1st. The service is at 6:45 p.m. and will last about 30 minutes—choir to follow. Please join us for worship and if you are so inclined stay for choir practice.
During the Season of Lent we will have an adult study at 9:00 and 11:30. See Muffin’s article for details. I am looking forward to this time to examine our faith stance and values and talk about how we will live out our faith in these times. It will be a good discussion and an important one. Join us either before or after worship.
The Search: There will a congregational meeting on March 26, called by the Pastoral Search Committee. Put this on your calendar, please.
That’s enough for this week. See you in church.
