This Summer

It is interesting to look at the prophets of the Bible as sermon topics, especially in these turbulent times. Over the course of the rest of the summer we will continue to explore different areas and understanding with the Prophetic genre. Together we will continue to ask, what hope can be found in the voices and stories generated by the prophets and the prophetic imagination?

This summer and early fall we are also exploring different ways of worshiping, with a series of worship services designed to engage your sense and various ways of learning. On Sunday August 5, our worship will center on a series of stations, designed to allow worshippers to participate and engage activities at his/her/their own pace. We will begin worship with instructions and then move into the stations when and as we are comfortable. So often in worship we focus primarily on the auditory sense, our hope on this Sunday is that we experience worship through different modes and means. We will explore a variety of worship styles with one focused on music, and another focused on service and ministry in the community in the month of September. Each of these worship services are designed with the hope that engaging our worship in auditory, kinesthetic, and visual learning modes will enhance our experiences in worship. It has been my experience that these types of worship opportunities are life giving and meaningful to those who participate. I’m excited and I hope you are too!

Peace,

Kara
