A big welcome our new Pine Valley members Jessica Carr and Gary Oyler! Both are enthusiastic and have creative ideas for our congregation moving forward.

The Congregational specified 5-person future-planning task group, plus David Hansen and myself, are Carmen Bell, Cheryl Roy, David Roy, Lisa Tos-Brightup and Natalie Tos-Brightup. We met Tuesday the 12th. We are discussing exiting possibilities for Pine Valley Christian Church this Fall. We will make a report and recommend a plan to the Congregation on July 31. The planning group will meet at least one more time to hone our ideas before the presentation to the Congregation.

From the PVCC newsletter archives, this week in 1968:  [PVCC adults and children participated in a two-week Mexican Work Camp & Tour sponsored by the Kansas Christian Churches.] “After two long days of travelling we arrived here on the ‘Mountain of Life’ farm.” [The group painted buildings on the farm.] Thirty-seven gallons of paint have been put on… Our kids are getting a thrill out of meeting the Mexican families who live here on the farm and especially the three young men who sing and play the guitar for them almost every evening.”
