MESSAGE FROM THE PV PRESIDENT

As a child of multiple blended families, the last decoration that gets hung for the Christmas holiday is a sign stating “Is it over yet?”.  Don’t get me wrong, I somewhat enjoy the holidays but with all the hustle and bustle of the commerciality and seven or more different places to celebrate, I am ready for it to be over before it has even begun.

On Christmas Eve, we met the faces at the manger.  From Mary to the innkeeper who refused to open the available room, we were introduced to the manger from a new viewpoint, including that of the Shepherds.  While much was going on around them as they watched their flocks, they were able to take time for themselves and hear the angels tell them of the birth of the baby.

Much as we are surrounded by those who are concerned with commercializing Christmas, so were the Shepherds surrounded by other responsibilities to distract them.  This holiday season, may we remember to take time and listen to what is going on around us, listen to our families, our hearts and our minds.  May we move past the commercialization and be more like the shepherds listening for the Angels and their message.

Peace and Blessings!

Nat
