“The truth does crush us, but the instant it crushes us, it somehow puts us back together into something honest. It’s death and resurrection every time it happens.” –Nadia Bolz-Weber

Facilitated Congregational Meetings to Envision PVCC Future.
As the congregation has directed, Mission Council has hired professional facilitator Laura Dungan to lead us through a short series of Saturday meetings this month and into June. The goal is to determine the direction of this church. Congregation participation will be key to a successful outcome.
Please read over the following schedule for the facilitated meetings and direction-discerning process. If you are a participating PVCC member, you can expect a phone call within the next seven days, to confirm your intent to attend. If you don’t get a call, please contact the PVCC office to confirm your attendance.
Saturday, May 21, 10:00-12:00 at the church. Subjects will include history, grief, visioning, input from all.
May 22-June 10. Three-week creative time for small groups/individuals to fashion scenarios/proposals for our future. Groups/individuals will submit proposals to the church office, deadline June 4.
Monday, June 6, the office will email participating members all submitted proposals to consider prior to the next meeting.
Saturday, June 11, 9:30-12:00 at the church. Each proposal will be considered, and an agreed direction will emerge.
Message from facilitator Laura Dungan:
We will build Pine Valley’s community through an exciting and creative process of “consent decision-making”. We will provide a space for everyone to participate. We will discern our next steps forward.

From the PVCC newsletter archives, this week in 1971: A Weekend To Look At Life has been planned for all the children and youth of Pine Valley Christian Church… The primary objective will be to help each child discover the basic meaning of life as revealed in the life and teachings of Jesus the Christ.
