It’s a really bad idea to set out to change another person. Instead, set out to love them, and they will become whatever they are supposed to become. – John Pavlovitz

It’s Camp Time! Join us for Summer Camp 2022
Warmer days with longer sunlight are headed our way! Summer church camps give children and youth the chance to encounter God through nature, solitude, and a Christian community to build leaders for today and tomorrow.
The Christian Church in Kansas Outdoor Ministries team has six, age-appropriate, camp sessions and three specialty camps are planned for the 2022 Summer Camp Season.
Contact Melanie Naden for more information. There’s also downloadable promotion materials, and online registration available at https://kansasdisciples.org/summer-camp/

The IRC in Wichita, KS is assisting the placement of 950 refugee families in our area.
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) projects it will settle 950 refugees in Wichita this year — ninefold the 106 refugees resettled by the nonprofit in 2021 — and local officials are asking community members to step up and help transitioning families. Four hundred of the people IRC expects to relocate to Wichita this year were evacuated from Afghanistan after the country fell to the Taliban.
The IRC provides opportunities for refugees, asylees, victims of human trafficking, survivors of torture, and other immigrants to thrive in America. Each year, thousands of people, forced to flee violence and persecution, are welcomed by the people of the United States into the safety and freedom of America. These individuals have survived against incredible odds. The IRC works with government bodies, civil society actors, and local volunteers to help them translate their past experiences into assets that are valuable to their new communities. In Wichita and other offices across the country, the IRC helps them to rebuild their lives.

From the PVCC newsletter archives, this week in 1970: Day Care facilities continue to be improved. A large area in the fenced play yard was black topped this week so that children can use their tricycles. The driveway was also repaired. Also, the Day Care center is being used for practice teaching by two young women.
