“At Home in the World”
District Assembly – April 2
Vy Ngyen, Executive Director of Week of Compassion, will keynote the South Central Assembly from 1:30-5:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 2, in the chapel at Disciples Center at Tawakoni.
As a child, Vy and his family were refugees from Vietnam, receiving assistance from Week of Compassion in finding a new place to call home. Now, Vy works with Week of Compassion to help other refugees find a home in this world.
Registration check-in begins at 1:30 p.m. followed by Vy’s keynote presentation. A short business meeting will begin about 3:45 to approve the new slate of cabinet officers followed by closing worship.
Proposed 2017-2019 officers are:

- SCD Moderator Elect: Robin Colerick-Shinkle, Cheney TUCC
- SCD Secretary/Treasurer: Wilma Hart, Wichita Woodridge CC

- CCK Selections Committee/SCD Nominations Committee (2): TBA
The assembly is free and open to everyone. Desserts and drinks will be served, and during closing worship, an offering will be gathered for Week of Compassion.
