Season of Pentecost
“The reason life works at all is that not everyone in your tribe is nuts on the same day.” – Anne Lamott

Thanks for attending our Special Congregational Meeting this past Sunday. We passed a motion to adopt the proposed minor changes to the Constitution. Our next Congregational Meeting is October 2. If you have any items you’d like to put on the agenda, please send them to me at gyarnell@cox.net.

From the PVCC newsletter archives, this week in 1975:  At a time of year when our Jewish friends mark the observance of their holiest days, it is fitting that Jack Vaughn be the speaker for our service of worship. Jack is the Executive Director of the National Conference of Christians and Jews, Kansas region… As we have become more aware of our common religious heritage, we have an increasing appreciation for it. Jack’s message will be [about] the gift of uniqueness and the blessings of diversity, the benefits of our pluralistic society.

Note: Rosh Hashanah is the holy several days referenced in the article from 1975. From the web:

Rosh Hashanah – Begins sunset of Sunday, September 25, 2022. Ends nightfall of Tuesday, September 27, 2022.
The first of the Jewish High Holy Days that were listed in Leviticus, Rosh Hashanah, commonly called the Jewish New Year, is a time of celebration and season of reflection and solemnity.
