With the September 1, 2022, start of David Hansen’s journey with us as senior minister, a new Pastoral Relations Committee will work with him. Those members are Connie Dietz, Dena Marten, and Kirk Miller.
Next Sunday, August 28, there will be a Congregational meeting after worship where we’ll enjoy a lunch of sandwiches and sides while we conduct business.
At this meeting the Congregation will elect a new Moderator to finish the term that started in January 2022. The nominee is Greg Yarnell. The term will run through December 31, 2023.
The June 2022 suspended version of the PVCC Constitution will be reconsidered at this meeting. The end of this suspended version is August 31, 2022. That date will be reconsidered. You should have received via email a copy of the suspended version. Please print it and bring it with you to the August 28 meeting. Please alert the PVCC Office if you can’t print a copy and will need one for the meeting.

From the PVCC newsletter archives, this week in 1974: “It is our hope that the idea of death will be grappled with honestly in our House Churches this fall as Pine Valley struggles with the answers to questions like: How do you minister to a dying friend? How do you tell a child that he/she is dying? Are funerals necessary? What does the Christian faith inform us about death? When is death appropriate? (i.e., suicide, euthanasia, capital punishment, etc.) And most important to each of us: how do I die?
