FROM OUR INTERIM PASTOR ~ RECRUDESCENCE

Recrudescence is a great word; even a necessary one although it is one we rarely use or hear. It means “spiritual rebirth.” I first came across it when I was visiting the National Cemetery of the Pacific, where I saw a quote from General MacArthur. He said that war is a spiritual problem that will not be resolved until there is a recrudescence of the human spirit.  I think he is right. I also believe that the core message of our faith is that such a rebirth is possible. Last Sunday, Linda McLachlan reminded us that peace begins within and leads to acts of kindness and generosity. In other words, we can all do something to promote peace. What a gift we have been given.
