On Pentecost Sunday, we celebrate the birthday of the church. The story, told in chapter 2 of the Book of Acts, says that the disciples were all together in one place when there arose a strong wind that filled the house, and what seemed like tongues of fire came and rested on each of the people gathered. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and they began speaking in tongues. WAM—our Worship, Arts and Music Spirit Team—has decorated the Great Hall for Pentecost. To complete the theme we are asking you to WEAR RED on Sunday, signifying the tongues of fire. We won’t ask anyone to speak in tongues, but we will celebrate the gifts of the Spirit.
Blessings,
David
