This Sunday is World Wide Communion Sunday. We celebrate our connection to the historic church and to the global church. Communion ware from many lands will be used in the service. Looking ahead on October 12th we will commission Lorrie Beck, Carmen Bell, Gaye Clements and Muffin Overstreet as they prepare to go to South Korea. On October 19th we will commission Dave and Cheryl Roy as our representatives at the Disciples of Christ regional meeting. These many connections give personal meaning to Paul’s witness: “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope of your calling, on Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Maker of us all, who is above all and through all and in all” (Ephesians 4:4-6).
