FROM OUR INTERIM PASTOR ~

Dear Friends,

First things first. Let me say, ”Thank you for the wonderful card shower for my birthday.” What fun. I received several cards at home and many kind e-notes. You brightened my day!! Thank you. I told a friend that I was turning 70 and she said, “Come on in, the water is fine.” And it is. God is good and it is great to be alive.

Sally and I had a great time celebrating our 48th anniversary while we were in Oregon. That means that we were married the same year that PVCC was started. There is something cosmic about our becoming a part of PVCC. While we were in Oregon we were able to visit Michael Ryer and Adele Stark. They are doing great and nicely settled into their new home. Adele is a busy gardener. Michael is active in the community and flying. And they have Oregon blueberries growing outside their back door! They are active in a DOC congregation in Salem.

I have heard lots and lots about the good things happening at PVCC while I was away. We celebrate Nora Miller—gardener extraordinaire.

I’m happy to report that 67 people were in church last Sunday!! What a stellar PVCC welcome for Rev. Carolyn Schwarz and her husband, Ken. And the receptions at the homes of Dave and Cheryl Roy, Phil and Connie Dietz, and Lorrie and Shirley Beck, were well attended. Thank you to our hosts and to all who attended. There is work that is yet to be done but I am so encouraged and delighted by all that I have heard.  Psalm 133:1 reads, “How good and pleasant it is when people of faith dwell together in harmony.” And so it is. See you on Sunday.

David Hansen
