FROM OUR INTERIM PASTOR

I am looking forward to Sunday, May 11th. This is traditionally known as Mother’s Day. In the nineteenth century Julia Ward Howe campaigned for a national observance of a Mother’s Day for Peace, but Anna Jarvis is credited with making Mother’s Day nationally recognized day. She held a memorial for her mother in 1908. She was opposed to the commercialization of Mother’s Day. More recently Mother’s Day has become a day to recognize the rights of women. Our worship service will honor all women.

On Sunday, May 11th we will also dedicate the Bettye Tumlinson Memorial Garden. Dick and Judy and members of the Tumlinson family will be with us in worship and participate in the dedication service. The memorial garden is a very special place for PVCC. Please plan to stay after worship for this service of dedication.

Blessings, David
