LIVING LENT: PEOPLE
He approached Jesus to kiss him, but Jesus asked him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?”
There is a long from an old song that comes from the 60s movie “Funny Girl.” “People who need people are the luckiest people in the world.” It never made it to the hymnbook, but it did stick in the minds of many movie goers. We all need people around us to love support, serve, care for and even to forgive. And that means even Judas! You and I know that we are living and dealing with people caught and mired in mud, like Judas. And if we’re honest – like each of us.
Living Lent is a lifestyle of being forgiven and forgiving so that all people are empowered to join together to give thanks because we are people of the resurrection.
Prayer: Jesus, turn our betrayals into blessings, as only you can do. Amen.
