Mother’s Day is coming. For many of us this is a special day to honor and celebrate our mothers and thank them for the love they shared and showered upon us. For many us Mother’s Day is a not so pleasant reminder of the mother who was not there for us. In respect for the diverse journeys present in our congregation, this Sunday we will celebrate Women’s Day. We will celebrate and honor women of courage, women of faith and women who model stories of hope for all people. I invite you to bring the name or names of women from the past or in the present you want to honor this day. We will have a time in the service when you will be invited to share the names you bring with members of the community.
